Elizabeth Jane Hurley is an English actress and model that became famous as the friend of Hugh Grant in the 1990s. When Grant's film Four Weddings and a Funeral gained international recognition, Hurley accompanied Grant to the film's Los Angeles premiere wearing a black Versace dress with gold safety-pins. The outfit received immediate public attention. Hurley's involvement together with Estee Lauder, a cosmetics company, has been considered as the top of her professional career. They offered Hurley the first model gig at the age of 29. They have used Hurley as a model in its products especially perfumes like Sensuous Intuition and Pleasures from 1995. In the popular spy comedies International Man of Mystery (1997) and Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (1998), she performed the role of Vanessa Kensington. Hurley designs and models an eponymous line of beachwear. However, the mix of exuberance and refined melodicism led to I Kissed a Girl become a number one hit in multiple countries powering sales for her album One of the Boys (2008). Hot N Cold's sharp and bouncy second single was also extremely popular. The album Perry made for herself, was a huge success, selling over three million copies in the United States.
